With so much talk – for and against on the draft National Planning Policy Framework, it’s good to have summary sheets to make it easier to review the arguments for and against. The HBF has produced a fact sheet on the draft National Planning Policy Framework to counter the arguments of the National Trust and CPRE who oppose the new rules. The sheet includes 14 key facts about UK housing including:
- Last year saw 103,000 homes built in England, the fewest since 1923
- Official figures show that at least 230,000 new homes a year are needed
- Last year there were 200,000 first time buyers compared to 600,000 ten years ago
